The optical manufacturing process is the sum of all technical operations necessary to produce a workpiece. Generally, the process is composed of a series of operating procedures and steps. The close relationship formed by the optimization of production planning, production control and the interaction of these complex processes determines the production efficiency of an optical product or component.

The selected production organization has a great influence on the efficiency and flexibility of the production process. The production principle depends on the spatial layout of the machine and workstations, and directly affects the entire process of parts manufacturing.

The production principle is the spatial organization form of the production process, and the degree of specialization and universality of the production process is the criterion for judging the production principle.

Production principles are divided into workshop principles and product principles.

l Workshop principle: If the manufacturing process is the same, the tooling and work position are combined in the layout to facilitate the manufacture of different parts. The main advantage is that it has very good flexibility and versatility in consideration of the shape and size of the workpiece. In addition, it can It can make up for errors quite quickly (zero-wait principle). This principle is mainly used in small and medium batch production, and is often used in optical component manufacturing aco02]

l Product principle: Combining different machinery and equipment and workstations required by the entire manufacturing process of the same or similar components. This principle has two different forms.

1. Type A

Lay out machine tools and workstations in the order of technological optimization, including continuous production (mass production), special (purpose) production, and assembly line production. The first two principles use time-independent workpiece transfer methods. Therefore, workpieces are placed on each machine or work station. It needs a short stay between positions and is used in continuous production. However, the float production adopts synchronous workpiece conveying technology, which is a typical form of mass production and is used in conveyor lines and variable flow production lines.

2. Type B

Integrate the production process of the entire part into one machine or a variable assembly line manufacturing system. For optical components, the entire manufacturing process can be understood as a process in which one part or the entire component is completely assembled and molded. This principle is often a separate operation, but the manufacturing process is different.

l Concentration principle: The manufacturing process is divided into a few operations and stations. Therefore, these operations include a series of work sections. In extreme cases, the production process may include only one operation, for example, the entire manufacturing process of the component is completed in one manufacturing unit. Injection molded parts are examples of integrated type, gate removal and subsequent functional testing, which are concentrated in one station.

The principle of concentration provides an opportunity to superimpose the main and secondary process steps. Several workpieces can be processed at the same time or on multiple machines. The process is required to adopt a semi-automatic or fully automatic mode. Therefore, the operator only needs to or Intervene within time. Other advantages are the short operating cycle and the small operating space required

l Distinguishing principle: The manufacturing process is divided into multiple operations consisting of a few steps. This is a decentralized operation method that continuously transfers components to the next station. This principle is mainly applied to the large-scale flexible manufacturing system (FMS). ), flexible manufacturing unit and flexible production unit (island) form. The following two manufacturing principles, although mold and mass production, and strive to achieve the best possible productivity. In practice, the mass production of microlenses is designed as an assembly line production. Machine tools such as rough grinding, polishing and centering form a production chain, which is transported by loading and unloading systems such as grippers, manipulators or robots.
